The Policies and Governance Sector at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman is responsible for establishing legislative and regulatory frameworks to ensure transparency and efficiency in the performance of the information and communications technology (ICT) and postal sectors. This includes the development of policies and legislation, the promotion of compliance, and the achievement of integration among relevant entities, in addition to upholding the principles of integrity and accountability. These efforts come within the framework of supporting digital transformation and achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

 Yes, data is classified as open after conducting an impact assessment in accordance with the Data Classification Policy.

The data owner is the creator of the data, who determines its confidentiality classification. The recipient of the data must preserve the assigned confidentiality level and may not change it. 

 The data to be classified is identified, followed by an impact assessment to determine the consequences of its publication. If the data is sensitive and cannot be published, it is classified under one of the four classification levels.
