The Makin Initiative is a national initiative for digital competencies launched by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology in September 2022, as part of the initiatives under the Executive Program for the Digital Industry within the National Digital Economy Program. The initiative aims to equip Omani youth with the most in-demand modern digital skills in the labor market and provide income-generating opportunities in the digital sector by 2025.

- Bridge the gap between technical graduates and labor market needs.
- Build sustainable strategic partnerships with local and international organizations.
In cooperation with leading companies and institutions in the sector, the initiative aims to train 10,000 Omanis in digital skills by 2025, contributing to supplying the labor market with national competencies that meet the rapidly evolving business environment and the increasing demand for technical skills.
