Summary: program
The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) is the authority responsible for designing and issuing policies, frameworks, standards, and guidelines in the field of Information Technology, and ensuring their implementation across government entities. This mandate is based on Royal Decree No. (90/2020) establishing the Ministry.
To ensure compliance with IT governance policies and standards, the Ministry monitors implementation through the Government Compliance Program, in coordination with the Digital Transformation Team. The program consists of three main components:
1. Self-Assessment
- All government entities are required to conduct regular self-assessments to measure their compliance with the Ministry’s policies and standards.
- Assessments are carried out via the Ejada Digital Transformation System, with access limited to designated focal points from each government unit.
2. Field Audits
- The Government Compliance Team, in coordination with the Digital Transformation Team, conducts on-site audits to verify the level of compliance within government entities.
3. Monitoring and Reporting
- Following field audits, detailed reports are prepared and shared with the respective government entities to highlight results and outline corrective and improvement actions when necessary.
- A consolidated annual report is submitted to the Royal Office at the end of each year, providing an overview of the overall compliance status of government entities with IT policies.
