Oman, UAE Boost Space Cooperation

As part of the strong fraternal ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and in an effort to benefit from pioneering experiences in the space sector, a delegation from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the National Space Programme, conducted an official visit to the UAE Space Agency and several key facilities related to the sector.
The Omani delegation was headed by H.E. Dr. Ali bin Amur Al-Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology. He was accompanied by Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al-Shoaili, Director General of Policies and Governance and Head of the National Space Program, along with representatives from several academic institutions and local companies operating in the space sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of space, explore the UAE’s most prominent achievements and successful experiences in developing this strategic sector, and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership between academic institutions and specialized companies in both countries.
This visit reflects the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing Oman’s presence in the space sector by building strategic partnerships and exchanging expertise with leading nations, thereby contributing to the development of national capabilities and the realization of a forward-looking vision.
