MTCIT, NASCOM Sign MoU in Space Sector

As part of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology’s efforts to implement the objectives of the National Space Policy and its Executive Program 2023–2033, which aims to position the Sultanate of Oman as the regional gateway for space services and applications, the Ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Space Services Company (NASCOM).
Under this MoU, NASCOM has been designated as a “Qualified Entity” to establish and operate spaceports, further supporting the Sultanate’s ambitions to become a leading hub in the space sector.
This agreement aims to build the capabilities of the Omani private sector to participate in the implementation of strategic projects, attract foreign investments, and facilitate the transfer and localization of advanced technologies.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Ministry by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology, and on behalf of NASCOM by His Highness Sayyid Azan bin Qais Al Said, Chairman of the National Space Services Company.
