The National Center for Information Safety at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) officially launched the “Cybersecurity Pre-Incubation Program” on Sunday. The program is being held in collaboration with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Muscat and in strategic partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, with support from Eshraqa, the social development arm of Khimji Ramdas. The program runs from July 13 to 24, 2025, at the Cybersecurity Innovation Center (Hadatha) at UTAS Muscat.

The program targets entrepreneurs and startup founders in the field of cybersecurity from the Muscat Governorate. It aims to empower them to develop their innovative ideas into viable business ventures ready for local, regional, or international markets.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Cybersecurity Innovation Center (Hadatha), which seeks to position the Sultanate of Oman as a regional leader in digital innovation and cybersecurity. The center is committed to building a specialized industry powered by human capital, creativity, and modern technologies.

Comprehensive Support and Technological Leadership

The program includes a comprehensive training package covering strategic and operational planning, financial management, branding and digital marketing, team management and recruitment, as well as market analysis and exploration of economic opportunities and challenges to ensure project sustainability.

Participants will go through two main training phases. The first focuses on developing business models, strategic planning, and feasibility studies. The second phase involves technical and practical support, building financial models, and training on pitching projects to investors and support entities.

Ongoing Efforts

The Cybersecurity Innovation Center (Hadatha) hosted the “Hadatha Cybersecurity Hackathon” last February as part of its operational plan for the current year. The hackathon addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, cyberattacks, modern technologies, and raising cybersecurity awareness.

This program reflects the commitment of national institutions to support innovation and tech entrepreneurship, in alignment with Oman’s digital transformation goals and Vision 2040.
