In 2024, Oman achieved significant milestones in transport, logistics, ICT, space, and AI. Over 31 projects were completed to boost road infrastructure, digital government services expanded, and the country launched its first space rocket “Duqm-1”. Strategic focus was aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and carbon neutrality goals.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology reported major progress in 2024 across infrastructure, digital economy, and innovation. Key highlights include:

  • Completion of 31 infrastructure projects, enhancing road connectivity and reducing maintenance costs using new technologies.
  • Oman ranked 13th globally in road quality and 2nd in aviation safety.
  • Over OMR 2 billion was invested in logistics; ports saw increased cargo throughput.
  • 267 fully automated government services launched; 27M digital transactions processed.
  • Semiconductor chips “Oman-1” and “Oman-2” were designed.
  • 8,240 individuals trained under the Makeen initiative; 75 startups supported through Numo.
  • “Duqm-1”, the first space rocket, was launched; three ground stations established.
  • AI and data initiatives included developing a national GPT model, launching an open data portal, and setting governance policies.

These achievements reflect Oman's commitment to sustainable development, economic diversification, and technological leadership.
