The Preparation Sessions for the 1st GCC Cybersecurity Hackathon document outlines the objectives, structure, and schedule of the upcoming regional hackathon focused on building a specialized cybersecurity industry in the GCC. The initiative, aligned with Oman’s national cybersecurity program, aims to foster innovation, support startups, and address key cyber threats by engaging youth aged 18–40 across the Gulf. Participants will propose solutions in areas like cloud security, AI, 5G, ransomware, phishing, blockchain, and more. The program includes two preparatory workshops to guide participants in idea development, project framing, and pitching to investors. Finalists will present their solutions on September 9, 2024, with winners announced during Oman’s Regional Cybersecurity Week in October. The initiative promotes entrepreneurship, collaboration, and talent development in cybersecurity across the region.
